For a milonga (the social dance), heels and straps are best for women. Street shoes are not good for a dance floor because they can track in all sorts of things, so bring shoes to change into if you can... at least if it's raining. At the Box Factory, it is better to wear flats, chunk heels, or sneakers that can glide. Consider the value of having quality dance footwear.
