About the Artist Karen Kucharski

Karen has been dancing the Tango since the mid-90s and has studied in New York City, Montreal, Buenos Aires, and Ithaca, with such notable Tangueros as Argentine Film Star Pablo Veron, and Ithaca's Matej Oresic. Karen teaches accessible methods to the fundamental building blocks of the dance based on her art and dance experience; she also offers Art Workshops. She has taught at Cornell University, Syracuse University, Dartmouth College, in the New York State Public Education System, for not-for-profit organizations, and in other studio settings. 
She combines her love of the dance with her art. Her paintings shared the stage in July 2007 at Artpark in Lewiston, New York, with bandoneonist Daniel Binelli, dancers Pilar Alvarez and Claudio Hoffman, and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, and at Clifton Hall at the Albright-Knox Art Museum with musician Pedro Giraudo during the Buffalo Tango Festival '07. In 2008, "Tango Returns!" featured the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra with guest musicians, Quartango, dancers Fabian & Roxana Belmonte, and Karen Kucharski's Tango paintings.
