Tango Art and Lessons       Art for the Lifestyle ~ Lessons for the fun of it.      Drawings     Painting     Prints    Dance     Artist        I am a visual artist whose love of dance found its way into my art.  My intentions are to post my art for sale,  teach Art and Tango workshops, share my work in performances onstage and through exhibitions, and share information about the Argentine Tango community locally and globally.         I became hooked on the Argentine Tango in the mid-nineties when the dance was just being introduced to upstate New York, well, except for what came before with silent movies and other events before my time.  The Argentine Tango continues to be an inspiration for my art because it is, to me, a language of attentiveness heralded by movement.  As a dancer and female, I still struggle to find the dances where I feel most alive since it has a give and take that can be difficult to locate with every partner on the dancefloor.  The creative play of request and response must be there between partners.  It is the heart of the dance.      These aspects that are dear to me are expressed in my art, and maybe you can see them and appreciate these nuances.  I take care to present the information with refinement, at least according to my sense of it.  There's a play between realism and abstraction, where detail gives way to loose lines or trailing smudges.  And what's with that halo effect?  Well, it just happens to come naturally in the way I move my hand to shape the light or edge of a form.  But, then again, it hints at the fine line between physicality of the figures and their incredible spirits when the dance truly shines.  I am an idealist and I love the Tango for what it represents and, sometimes, for how it feels.
